Nas Shrugs Off Kelis Arrest, Gets His ‘Greedy On’ With Tour, New Album

Nas has already had an active 2007. He’s still releasing singles from Hip Hop Is Dead, he’s hitting the road for a 26-date tour and he’s planning to release his next album in the summer or fall.

But there’s one part of the year he’d rather just forget. His wife, singer Kelis, was arrested a couple of weeks ago in Miami after shouting at undercover police officers (see “Kelis Charged With Disorderly Conduct, Resisting Arrest”). Nas simply shrugged the incident off with a chuckle.

“It’s a lot of sh– out there circulating about her that she finds pretty funny,” the MC said Thursday. “It’ll be cleared up soon.”

It’s been said that it’s better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all — and Bow Wow raps all about it in his single “Outta My System.”
The soon-to-be 20-year-old just shot a video for the new track from The Price of Fame in Los Angeles.

In the song, Bow Wow raps, “I still got a lot of pain/ I ain’t dealt with it all/ I been running round with other chicks/ I’m single and they loving it/ I’m liking it, but I just want the one I was in love with.” Fans think he’s rapping about his ex-girlfriend Ciara, and Bow cleared it up a little.

Twista Links With Lil’ Wayne & R.Kelly For New CD

R2HM

SOHH reported that Twista will release his 7th studio album entitled Adrenaline Rush 2010 this summer.

This is the follow-up to 2005’s platinum-selling The Day After, features guest appearances from Lil’ Wayne, Snoop Dogg, Pharell, Cee-Lo Green, Saigon and fellow Chicagoan R. Kelly. The disc is also rumored to include a collaboration between Twista and one-time rival act, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. The two have traded diss records in the past after both claiming to have originated the rapid-fire, staccato flow that they are known for, but have since squashed their beef.

The disc’s production will be primarily handled by long time collaborator The Lengendary Traxter and will also feature production from Just Blaze and Toxic.

50 Cent Wants to dominate this year.

NEW YORK — 50 Cent is starting to get angry again. And as history has shown, that should mean good material for the bulletproof rapper’s forthcoming album, Before I Self Destruct, tentatively due this spring.

Responding to detractors who claim G-Unit are over due to a slippage in album sales and rumors about the direction of his project, Fif says he’s been feeling the pressure to deliver with Before I Self Destruct (see “50 Cent, Almost Ready To Self Destruct, Unloads On Critics First”). As he explained, he is used to pressure — he already places a lot on himself as it is — and knows what everyone’s been saying lately about his camp.

J.R. Rotem Helping 50 Get Soul, Tossing Beats For Dr. Dre

Producer J.R. Rotem says he doesn’t party. Judging by the schedule he’s keeping these days, he probably wouldn’t have time for it anyway.

A few years ago, Rotem was your average Joe, sitting at home in his boxer shorts wondering if anybody would actually pay for his tracks one day. Now Rotem has everyone from the Game to Rick Ross to JoJo shelling out top dollar for his beats. He’s working with two artists a day, with Britney Spears and 50 Cent being the biggest names on his roster.

Lupe fiasco wants Pink Floyd on next LP

Lupe Fiasco Speaks On Next Album
December 12th, 2006 | Author: Andres Tardio
Lupe Fiasco can get rappers as guests on tracks anyday. So, Fiasco has decided to challenge himself. Reports indicate that the Chi-Town MC will try his hand at getting Pink Floyd to appear on his next LP.

“I got my wish list on my last album so I made this one unattainable,” he recently told Billboard of his first LP, which featured guests such as Jay-Z, Jill Scott, Pharrell Williams and more. “Now I want to work with Pink Floyd, or the remnants of Pink Floyd,” he added.

While Lupe knows this is sure to be a difficult task, he’s also confident that it could work. After all, this isn’t the first time he’s had to face this type of situation.

“‘American Terrorist’ wasn’t going to be on the album, because we heard Chick Corea doesn’t like hip-hop,” Fiasco explained. “But we went the extra mile to make sure he heard the rest of the record and could see that there was no cursing, and that there was positivity. We were taking extra care with his work and not putting any garbage out there. It’s that same approach with Floyd. I’m really serious!”

Fiasco’s next LP, tentatively titled The Cool is sure to have some “intensity.”

“Lyrically, it’s going to be intense, but nothing is recorded as of yet.”

During the interview, he also divulged that he has issues with the promotion of his upcoming album, The Inspiration. Jeezy claimed he didn’t want to put the whole blame on Hov like other Def Jam artists have done because “he never knows Jay’s politics.”

The Inspiration hits shelves on December 12.
